This study investigated university students’ comfortability with instructors’ nonverbal immediacy behaviors in a college classroom.
A sample of ten participants was drawn from a regional university in the Midwest. The participants were asked to respond to an instrument designed to measure the students’ comfortability of an instructors’ nonverbal immediacy behaviors.
The data was analyzed by conducting a t-test. The results did not support the hypothesis that female students are less comfortable with instructors’ immediacy behaviors.
